About the International Center
The mission of the International Center is to coordinate, support and promote the internationalization of the University of Missouri-Columbia campus. It is dedicated to promoting international awareness, fostering an appreciation for diversity, and helping students understand their roles and responsibilities as world citizens. The Center demonstrates its commitment to these ideals by creating a supportive and collaborative office environment modeled on mutual respect and understanding, and by providing professional and responsive service to MU students, scholars, faculty and staff. The Center serves not only to strengthen and bridge international resources across the MU campus, but also to engage the local and regional community in international education. The Center will provide regional, national, and international leadership while adhering to the highest standards of practice in International Education.
The mission of International Student & Scholar Services is to provide quality support services to MU's international students and scholars, foster intercultural understanding on campus and in the local community, and advance the interest of the international community and the University of Missouri-Columbia in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
The Study Abroad team supports the University of Missouri-Columbia's mission of teaching, research and service by developing and administering quality education abroad programs. Through participation in these programs, students gain understanding and appreciation of other cultures. This dynamic process prepares them to assume their roles as responsible world citizens.
