Bringing a J-1 scholar to campus

International scholar with Provost Brian Foster.

To bring an international scholar to the MU campus, the hosting department must complete a request form and submit a J-1 request packet that includes the MU international scholar fee. Once these forms have been completed and all information has been provided, the International Center will issue the Form DS-2019. The DS-2019 will be sent to the prospective scholar so that he or she may apply to a U.S. consulate or embassy abroad and obtain a J-1 visa for entry into the United States. A scholar who already is in the United States in J-1 status must apply for a transfer to MU. Questions? Please contact an International Center adviser at 573-882-6007.
