The GIA Review Committee, comprised of International Center staff members, reviews each application and makes an evaluation according to the published eligibility criteria.
After an initial review, graduate applicants may be asked to submit a copy of a "Plan of Study" (M-1 or D-2) Form with the signature of their academic/faculty adviser for additional evaluation of academic progress.
All applicants will be notified before the beginning of the semester for which they are applying about the outcome of their application for a GIA. Award notices will be sent to the applicant's MU email address. If an awardee fails to confirm the GIA award as instructed in the award notice, the award will be forfeited. The number of awards available varies from year to year. Applicants are encouraged to seek other sources of funding as typically there are many more applicants than there is funding available.
