- The MU Global Scholars Program is administered by the Council on International Initiatives (CII) and the International Center to internationalize the undergraduate curriculum. Colleges/Schools name faculty to participate in summer seminars abroad, internationalization teaching workshops and individual activities.
- The MU Study Abroad Advisory Council (SAAC) offers Study Abroad Program Development Awards. A maximum of $3,000 per program is awarded on a competitive basis to faculty/staff members to develop study abroad programs that meet curricular needs not met by MU's current study abroad offerings.
- The MU European Union Center offers a number of grants to students and faculty to encourage the production of original, scholarly research that produces publications or other creative accomplishments.
- The MU Research Council Faculty International Travel (FIT) awards provide partial support for travel to destinations outside the United States to participate in professional meetings, give performances, or hold exhibitions. It is expected that the total cost of the travel will be shared between the Home Department or Division and the Faculty International Travel grant funds. The maximum award an applicant can receive from the Faculty International Travel program is $1500.
- The University of Missouri South Africa Exchange Program (UMSAEP) is open to faculty from each of the four UM campuses. Funding from the UM President's Office supports collaborative research and teaching with colleagues in South Africa, particularly at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town. Opportunities also exist to host South African colleagues for a multi-campus study/collaboration.
