Financial aid resources for international students are somewhat limited and highly competitive. Opportunities available to international students include:

  • The Curator's Grant-in-Aid program is available to for currently enrolled international graduate and undergraduate students once they have attended MU for two full semesters. These are one-time awards that typically offer a $2,000-4,000 fee waiver for one semester.
  • The Global Heritage Scholarship offers a renewable, 100% nonresident tuition waiver (equal to approximately $7,500 per year) to eligible undergraduate international students. In addition to having a parent who graduated from MU, applicants must have a combined SAT I score of 1200 or higher or a composite ACT score of 27 or higher to be eligible for the award.
  • The Alumni Association's Global Tiger Scholarship is available to returning freshman or sophomore international students. These awards are for $1,000 and are generally non-renewable.
  • Graduate assistantships, including both teaching research assistantships are part-time employment opportunities for graduate students in academic departments or research centers. Assistantships are typically 10-20 hours per week and offer a monthly stipend as well as a tuition waiver. More information about graduate assistantships as well as other financial resources for graduate study at MU is available on the Graduate School website.
  • Finally, there are also many externally sponsored financial aid programs and grants for international students. Funding for US Study Online is an extensive database of scholarships, fellowships and grants organized and maintained by the Institute of International Education (IIE). It includes all types of funding programs, for all levels of post-secondary study, across the full range of academic areas.
