Chancellor's Global Issues Forum -
The Fulbright Program: Changing our Campus, Changing our World
Join MU Chancellor Brady J. Deaton as he moderates the latest in a series of open forums on global topics of interest to the community. Referring to the exchange program that bears his name, the late Senator J. William Fulbright once asserted "There is a multiplier effect in international education, and it carries the possibility - the only real possibility - of changing our manner of thinking about the world and therefore of changing the world." Established in 1946 for the purpose of increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries, the Fulbright Program has since provided over 300,000 American and foreign scholars with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research abroad. This forum will explore the impact of Fulbright Program at Mizzou through the experiences of four MU faculty members who have received Fulbright grants: Denice Adkins (Library Science), David O'Brien (Rural Sociology), Brick Johnstone (Healthy Psychology) and Michael Urban (Geography). * Location note: Chamber Auditorium is located on the 2nd Floor of the new MU Student Center, above the University Bookstore. Entrances are located on the north and south sides of the building.
