For Scholars & Staff > H-1B Scholars
Immigration Tracker is a case management software program that tracks the status of our H-1B employees and petitions. By using the Web Portal application of Tracker, H-1B scholars and their departmental contacts can view the status of any pending petitions filed on the behalf of the scholar as well as information about their status documents, including expiration information.
Logging In
- To log in to Immigration Tracker, go to the program's Web Portal and enter your user name and password.
- Your user name and password will be given to you via 2 separate e-mails. You may request ISSS to resend the emails at any time. You cannot change your password or user name.
Home Page
- The first page you will see is the "Home" tab. This page contains information about yourself, your status, and any H-1B process that ISSS is currently completing on your behalf:
Immigration Status: your current immigration status and its valid dates
Other Information: your biographical and employment information
Individual Notes: any notes left by ISSS for you to review that are specific to your case
Select a Process: a list of any processes that ISSS is currently working to complete on your behalf. You will most likely only have one process pending at a time
Process Details: the steps of your H-1B process that have been completed by ISSS
Process Log: e-mails sent and tasks completed by ISSS regarding your case
Immigration Status Documents: information for all your current immigration status documents
Employer Notes: any notes left by your departmental contact for you to review that are specific to your case
- The left side of the screen displays a list of your family members and contact information for the ISSS staff members involved in working on your petition. Because Immigration Tracker was originally designed for law offices, the ISSS staff members are listed under the heading Legal Staff with the titles "Primary Attorney" and "Primary Assistant."
- The right side of the screen offers some helpful tips.
Questionnaires Page
- The next tab is the Questionnaires tab. There should only be one questionnaire available to you, entitled "Beneficiary/Applicant Main (NIV) – Questionnaire." Clicking on this link will bring up a new window with the questionnaire.
- Simply fill out the questionnaire with the appropriate information. Here are some explanations of terms that might not be familiar to you:
A-Number: Refers to ones Alien Registration Number, which is an A followed by 8 digits. USCIS would only have assigned you an A-Number if you have previously applied for permanent residency or temporary residency.
National ID: Is irrelevant to the petition. Leave this spot blank.
Destination Country: This is the country where you will be in H-1B status. In this case, it will be the United States
History of Visits/Stays in Destination Country: This includes any trips to the United States that you have ever made, including information about your current stay, if you are currently in the US.
- When you are finished filling out the form, review the consent statements and click "I Agree" if you give your consent. Then click "Submit Changes for Review." ISSS will be notified via e-mail that you have submitted your questionnaire and will then review the form. The H-1B advisor will either accept the form or reject and ask you to edit it if the information provided is insufficient.
- If you cannot complete the questionnaire at one time, simply click the "Save and Continue Later" link at the bottom of the page to save the answers you have already completed and resume the questionnaire at a later time.
- If any information you provided in the questionnaire changes, you may fill out and resubmit a questionnaire at any time.
