MU
() International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) offers the following general advising schedule for MU international students (students and dependents on an F1 or J1 visa).
Should you do "walk-in" advising or make an appointment?
Walk-in advising is appropriate for quick, simple questions about immigration and procedures (i.e., questions about travel, OPT, or CPT; letters of good standing, Social Security forms, or invitation letters.). For tasks and questions that require more paperwork, such as changes to your I-20, you should schedule an appointment with an advisor to provide time enough to handle your situation. If during a walk-in advising session you will need more than 10 minutes, you will be asked to schedule and return for a future appointment. Walk-in AdvisingInternational students may see an advisor for up to a 10-minute time slot on a no-appointment, first-come first-served basis. Sign-up for walk-in advising is done in the International Center reception area. You must make an appointment for all other advising sessions. Advisor AppointmentsIf you need an appointment and your schedule prevents you from coming during a scheduled time, please contact an ISSS advisor to arrange an appointment time. Call the International Center at (573) 882-6007 to schedule a 30-minute appointment. The receptionist will ask you to provide a bit of information on the reason for the appointment. This is done to help the advisor prepare for the meeting. However, if there is a personal reason you do not want to share the reason for the appointment, you are free to say so. Please assist us by keeping your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call the office at (573) 882 - 6007 beforehand. |
