- F-1 and J-1 students do not need ISSS permission to accept employment.
- If you have questions about what qualifies as on campus employment, please contact an ISSS advisor.
- You can work up to 20 hours per week on campus during the fall and winter semesters.
- You can work over 20 hours per week on campus during the summer semester and other designated breaks (winter and spring vacations).
- A Graduate Assistantship is considered on-campus employment:
- A .5 assistantship is equal to 20 hours of work per week, regardless of actual number of hours spent working.
- A .25 assistantship is equal to 10 hours of work per week, regardless of actual number of hours spent working.
- You are not eligible for "work study" employment.

- You are NOT allowed to work off campus without special permission from immigration. Refer to OPT, CPT and Academic Training information for more details.
