Q. What does this program offer?
A. Ewha Womans University is a top tier Korean university that is noted for its academically challenging Co-Ed "Window to Asia" program taught in English. Ewha's motto "Quality Education with a Personal Touch' permeates the Window to Asia program. Ewha offers a wide range of classes, educational facilities and extra-curricular activities. Through participating in this program, you will have the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Korean life, language and culture, while taking courses taught in English. In addition to getting to know Korean students studying at Ewha, you will also have the opportunity to interact with int'l students from around the world studying at Ewha and in Seoul.

Q. What is it like there?
A. Ewha has nearly 16,000 undergraduate students and 5,000 graduate students. Exchange students from MU are matched with Korean "buddies" who help them in their adjustment to Korean culture. In order to provide a fuller experience of students' academic disciplines and Korean society, Ewha offers internship placements with Korean companies, consulting firms, international organizations, law firms, etc. Korea is one of the most fascinating places in the East, an ancient land with a unique culture and heritage and yet very cosmopolitan. Seoul is a 600 year old city with 11 million inhabitants. It is the financial, political, commercial, recreational, educational, and cultural center of Korea.

Q. What will I study?
A. The Window to Asia program offers a wide-range of English courses in the fields of Art History, Asian Studies, Business, Ceramics, Economics, Education, Geography, International Studies, Korean Studies, Literature, Media Studies, Music, Politics, Psychology, Religion, Sociology, Social Welfare, Women's Studies and more. Students may also take intensive Korean language courses, or participate in Ewha's unique internship program.

A. You can participate in this program for any of the following terms:

Q. Where will I live?
A. Ewha now has a brand new dormitory complex! The complex consists of 3 buildings: one for international exchange students called the Ewha-Samsung International House and two for graduate students. Ewha-Samsung International House has 63 single rooms and 25 double rooms. The rooms are fully equipped with a bed, desk, closet, bookshelf, phone, refrigerator, and Internet access. There are also two computer labs, two laundry rooms, reading rooms, seminar rooms, kitchenettes, ironing rooms, gym,lounge, and convenience store.

Q. Will I get academic credit?
A. For each semester of academic work completed abroad, you may earn up to 16 credit hours. Course credit transfers to MU, but your grades will not appear on your MU transcript and are not figured into your GPA. Although you will receive credit for successfully completed courses, you must work with your academic advisors to determine how courses might fulfill specific degree requirements. As part of your pre-departure preparation, you will find what courses are available on the program and meet with your academic advisor to get pre-approval for courses you wish to take.

Q. Can I afford to go?
A. MU attempts to make the costs of studying abroad affordable for you. As this is a reciprocal exchange program, you will pay MU educational fees, non-resident tuition (for non-Missouri residents), student activities fees, info technology fees, recreation facility fee and the student health center fee for 13 credit hours per semester. You will also pay a $500 study abroad fee to cover MU administrative costs. Additional expenses include health insurance, int'l airfare, on-site housing costs, and misc. expenses. Q. Can I get financial aid?
A. Most financial aid that you normally receive for your classes at MU should apply to the cost of the program. If you are not a Missouri resident, you will be billed for MU non-resident fees and so remain eligible for any non-resident scholarships you receive from MU. Additional grants, loans or scholarships may be available to offset the extra costs incurred on this program. Please see the advisor for study abroad financing at the MU Financial Aid Office for more complete information. The International Center offers study abroad scholarships as well. Scholarship applications are included in the MU Study Abroad Application.

Q. Am I eligible?
A. If you are a sophomore, junior or senior, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, you are eligible to apply.
