Danielle Winton started with the Asian Affairs Center in spring 2020. Her contributions include program and course development, instruction, training support and leading a pilot program online for family members of international scholars. Her exposure to Asia began in 2012 when she completed a study abroad program at Shanghai Normal University and a teaching internship in Changhua, Taiwan. After completing her bachelor's degree in international and managerial business at Truman State University, she earned her TEFL certificate while teaching ESL in Taipei, Taiwan, for nearly two years. While there, she picked up some Mandarin at National Taiwan Normal University in the Intensive Mandarin Training Program. She later worked with The Language Company in Missouri and partnered with several online ESL companies in various roles. She owns Memory Strategies, her own educational company. Danielle loves to travel and has been to several Asian countries, including Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
