We anticipate additional information in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OPT and STEM OPT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will not need to file an extension of stay if you do <strong>both <\/strong>of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You do not travel\/re-enter the U.S. on or after Sept. 15, 2026, <strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You file for OPT or STEM OPT before March 18, 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will need to file an extension of stay if you do <strong>either <\/strong>of the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You travel\/re-enter the U.S. on or after Sept. 15, 2026, <strong>or<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You file for OPT or STEM OPT on or after March 18, 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Updated 06-AUG-2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students and scholars who file for an extension of stay (EOS) in a timely manner will receive an automatic extension (not to exceed 240 days) of their work authorization while their EOS is pending.
