Mizzou does not provide temporary accommodations; you are responsible for arranging this for yourself. Options include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>Staying with current students or scholars:<\/b> Sometimes <a href=\"https:\/\/engage.missouri.edu\/club_signup?category_tags=6551559&amp;group_type=\">international student organizations<\/a> can assist with temporary housing. Please contact the organizations directly for more information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Hotels:<\/b> You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/search\/hotels\/@38.9440693,-92.3424333,14z\">search online<\/a>, check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitcolumbiamo.com\/section\/hotels-motels\/\">Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau website<\/a> or review the <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampus.missouri.edu\/leasing\">Off-Campus Student Services gap stay resources<\/a> to find hotels in the Columbia area. If you are not staying near campus, you will need to make arrangements for transportation. Columbia offers limited <a href=\"\/isss\/living-in-columbia\/daily-life\/transportation\/\">public transportation<\/a>, so check to see if the hotel where you want to stay is on a bus route.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Subleasing:<\/b> Some members of the university community rent out their homes for short periods of time. Check with <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampus.missouri.edu\/\">Off-Campus Student Services<\/a> for current listings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Short-term housing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Short-term scholars and students who will be in Columbia for less than a year can review the Off-Campus Student Services list of <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampus.missouri.edu\/leasing#lease\">short-term lease options<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Long-term housing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On campus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All on-campus housing is managed by <a href=\"https:\/\/housing.missouri.edu\/\">MU Housing<\/a>. On-campus housing options include residence halls and university student apartments \u2014 spaces fill up quickly, so apply early! Information about living on campus should have been mailed to you after you applied to Mizzou, and is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/housing.missouri.edu\/international-students\">Housing website<\/a>. If you plan to live on campus, you must submit a housing application along with a deposit to hold your room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Off campus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For information about off-campus housing, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampus.missouri.edu\/\">Off-Campus Student Services website<\/a>. It offers great resources about searching for an apartment, renters&#8217; rights and responsibilities, rental insurance, utilities and more. You should be sure to do your research and read your lease carefully before signing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to looking at apartments near campus, know that several apartment complexes further away do provide free shuttle services to and from Mizzou, are on Mizzou&#8217;s free <a href=\"https:\/\/parking.missouri.edu\/tiger-line-shuttle\/\">Tiger Line<\/a> shuttle route or are on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gocomotransit.com\/\">city bus route<\/a>.
