World History on the German Stage

Housing

Hostels

In Berlin, you will stay in a hostel in shared rooms with a shared bath. In Leipzig, you will stay in shared rooms with a private bath and access to a kitchenette.

You should get a business card, brochure and map (if possible) from the hostel before going out. It is important to have the hostel’s contact information in case you get lost or leave something behind. Any charges incurred above and beyond the basic room rate — including, but not limited to, phone calls, damages and any non-complementary services or items — are your responsibility and will not be paid by the program. Overnight guests are not permitted in program-provided housing.

Breakfasts in Berlin are included in the program, but you will be responsible for all meals on your own. It is important to think about your dining preferences when budgeting for your time abroad — where you choose to eat will greatly influence how much you spend on meals.
