In most cities, taxis are extremely affordable. On average, a taxi will charge 695 won per kilometer, or about $1.08 USD per mile.

The subway is also a convenient and cheap way to travel within Seoul. With more than 8 million passengers a day, Seoul has one of the biggest subway systems in the world.
Transportation in Gwangju
There are three main bus systems in Gwangju and they are color coded: red, yellow and green. The red buses are the fastest and stop in the three most popular districts: Dong-du (downtown area), Seo-gu (west district, Sangmu residential area) and Gwangsan-gu (Gwangsan district and Cheomdan area). The yellow and green buses travel throughout the city and have longer routes than the red buses. Most bus stops have electronic display boards with information about when the next bus arrives.
