Campus events and involvement
Global Tigers Connect is a program that facilitates cross-cultural interactions by partnering new international students with continuing Mizzou students to ease culture shock for our newest Tigers, and build community and develop intercultural communication skills for all! Continuing students can be international or domestic students. Partners will meet at least once a month and attend all Global Tigers Connect events for the current semester (usually two to three events). Submit your application as a new or continuing student by the deadline to connect this semester.

Library resources
MU Libraries offers a range of services and resources to support your academic work. Get started with the International Student Guide to MU Libraries and be sure to check out the upcoming workshops and webinars.
Writing resources
- Writing Center: Offers support for all stages of the writing process. Services include the Online Writery, where you can schedule appointments and submit drafts online.
- Graduate School list of writing and editing support.
- Plagiarism Check Services: Only for students enrolled in a masters/doctoral thesis research class.
- MU Libraries plagiarism and copyright resources.
Discuss any writing concerns you may have with your professors or faculty adviser. They may have additional resources or support for students in your field. Having an open and honest conversation about any concerns you have as early as possible, particularly regarding plagiarism, is a great way to better understand the expectations for your academic writing before any issues arise.
Electronic textbooks and course materials
Electronic textbooks can be found through a variety of methods:
- Check The Mizzou Store textbook information page for your courses and see if an electronic textbook is available for purchase.
- MU uses AutoAccess to bring digital course materials to students automatically through Canvas. You can find out if any of your courses will have AutoAccess materials by checking your booklist through The Mizzou Store. If any of your professors will be using AutoAccess this semester, the costs of these materials will be added to your student account.
- In some cases, MU Libraries may have an electronic textbook on file. Search for your textbooks through the Course Reserves.
- Search online for any vendors selling the textbook electronically.
If you are having trouble finding e-textbooks for any of your courses using the resources above, the next steps would be:
- Contact the professor to explain your situation and ask if they know where you can obtain an electronic copy or if they have other resources to help.
- Look into hard copy options to be mailed to you.
Notify our team if you cannot find an e-textbook, your professor is not able to assist you and you cannot order a hard copy. If the library has a hard copy textbook on file, we may be able to request that they obtain permission from the copyright holder to scan the entire text. This is not guaranteed and can take some time, so we recommend exploring all above options first.
