Unlike Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in America, Korea has it’s own set of holidays celebrated known as Children’s Day (May 5) and Parent’s Day (May 8). Children’s Day is like the counterpart to a Mother’s or Father’s Day in America, and is a national holiday, so I got out of classes today and got to go out! It was really interesting to see the giant crowds of parents and their super hyper kids celebrating the day with loads of candy and new toys.<\/p>\n

With that being said, my boyfriend, Vlad, and I celebrated the day by finally hiking up the mountain that holds the famous Seoul tower. Once we reached the top we saw a bunch of “love locks” going up along the railings of the bridges and balconies. We decided to purchase our own lock and made our mark on the mountain.<\/p>\n

Before going up the tower, we walked through a short but interesting light show. We weren’t expecting it, but it was beautiful and looked even better in person. Once we got to the top, we were greeted with a 360\u00b0 panorama of the city. Vlad and I both agreed that it would look really cool at night as well. We weren’t going to hike back down the mountain, so we decided we would take a cable car down. So that’s been our day so far. Now time for cleaning and homework, I guess.<\/p>\n
