Barcelona was a beautiful city, where I spent a weekend visiting La Sagrada Familia, Barceloneta beach, got on the Montjuic teleferico and enjoyed the view of the city (even though I am terrified of heights) and got to see Camp Nou! I have definitely stepped out of my comfort zone while being here (especially trying new foods). While visiting Valladolid, I tried tostas de pulpo, calamares, gambas al ajillo, mejillones and croquetas, and tried some amazing desserts like buñuelos, polvorones and bizcocho de chocolate.

La Sagrada Familia

Here in Madrid I have mostly visited all the “touristy” places and have even found local spots for shopping, eating, studying and hanging out with friends. I have gotten a lot more used to the lifestyle here with transportation, the weather, meal times, the social life and having to balance it all out with school work. With school still being my number one priority, I have learned to manage my time with assignments and studying for midterms, while still enjoying the city. I still cannot believe I am at the halfway point through my time here, but I am excited to keep sharing my experiences and adventure with you all. Hasta luego!

Learn more about this blogger’s study abroad program: IES Abroad: Engineering, Math and Science in Madrid

Two months have gone by, and I am halfway through my time here in Madrid.
