The experience was extremely intimidating at first, and I wasn&#8217;t sure what to expect. Upon arrival, I knew it would to be a challenge when they didn&#8217;t speak any English, and I&#8217;m only a beginner in Spanish. After a few days, I became more comfortable, and the family reassured me many times. They wanted me to feel at home, and over the past month, I do. I have my own privacy, while also feeling like I have a home away from home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-photo is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/flic.kr\/p\/2qkmPxU\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54040330598_ca33a19175_z.jpg\" alt=\"abroad_1\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Arrival in Spain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I am learning so many new things from them as well. They have shown me typical Spanish meals, taught me new ideas and much more. One of my favorite activities is watching a Spanish dating show with the mom every night after dinner. Regardless of the language barrier, it feels like I am bonding more with them everyday.
