Instead of one week in March, we got two weeks in February. I used this time to travel across Europe with my friends by train. We visited Zurich, Switzerland; Frankfurt, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; and Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was an incredible experience, and two things really stood out to me. First, public transportation is surprisingly easy to navigate. You pick it up quickly in each city, and after just a few days, you start traveling like a local. And second, the people in Europe are incredibly multilingual. It’s not like in America, where you can get by only speaking English. Here, some people can switch effortlessly between Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, English and so many other languages. This multilingual culture made traveling as an American smooth and stress-free.

The highest tower in Frankfurt, Germany.

The famous Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Learn more about this blogger’s study abroad program: Florence University of the Arts

Spring break in Italy isn’t like it is in the United States.
