UM South Africa Education Program call for proposals

May 4, 2017

Deadline: 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017

The International Center encourages interested faculty to respond to the call for proposals to support productive collaborations between the University of Missouri, University of the Western Cape and, potentially, other institutions in South Africa. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain seed funding that will extend or expand our most storied international academic partnership.

The university’s relationship with UWC was formalized in 1986. Since then, faculty exchange between our institutions has involved several hundred people, affecting more than 40 different MU departments directly. These exchanges have generated many funded competitive proposals, peer review publications, and instructional or curricular innovations.

Funding is available for faculty exchange and South African partnership proposals. The call for proposals provides further information about each of these competitions.

If you would like assistance in planning or establishing collaboration with faculty or academic programs at UWC, please contact James K. Scott, UMSAEP campus coordinator, or Rod Uphoff at your earliest convenience. They are happy to help with identifying and introducing potential collaborators, and to provide feedback on project ideas.

Proposals should be submitted to the campus coordinator no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15.
