Instructor
John Petter earned his master's and doctorate in public administration at the University of Illinois at Springfield, where he then taught a graduate internship class for 16 years. At the same time, he worked for the Illinois state government for nearly 30 years, mostly in an inspector general's office. He taught an adult class at church for 26 years and taught community English as a second language classes with immigrants for 12 years. He was artistic director for an international folk dance group for 15 years, among other volunteer community activities. Since moving to Missouri, he has volunteered with the City of Refuge and as an English conversation partner. John is excited to be an instructor at the Asian Affairs Center this semester.
