Instructor
Lori has experienced teaching in a multitude of settings, most recently teaching English learners in Mexico Public Schools. She has also taught as an adjunct instructor in MU's Graduate Assistant Program and the Intensive English Program. Prior to that, she was the ESL teacher/coordinator for Farmington R-7 Public Schools — during which time she prepared her secondary level students for college and trained classroom teachers in instructional delivery practices that are beneficial to their ESL students. She received her master's degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Southeast Missouri University in Cape Girardeau, and often volunteers to teach English and writing skills at International Community Church here in Columbia. An author as well, Lori's short story collection, "Mongolian Interior: An Expatriate Experience," chronicles the acculturation process her family experienced in Mongolia from 1995 to 2000.
