Instructor
Tami Barrett grew up in Columbia and graduated from Mizzou with a degree in elementary education. She recently retired after 28 years as a middle school social studies/English language arts teacher. Her passion as a teacher was inspiring her students to develop a lifelong love of reading. Tami and her husband enjoy spending time with their four children and four grandchildren. She also owns a small business where she upcycles vintage furniture and home decor. If she isn't painting a piece of furniture to sell in her vintage booth or taking her grandchildren swimming, you will probably find her reading a book or listening to 70s classic and folk rock. Tami is excited about the opportunity to teach in the Asian Affairs Center at Mizzou.
