Director
Lily Sorenson has served as the director for the Center for English Language Learning since 2021. She joined the center as an instructor in 2014. She then served as the interim director from September 2020 through May 2021 before being appointed as the director. She has a master's degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages and has been actively involved in the field for more than 25 years. She has teaching and administrative experience from a number of university English as a second language programs, including Boston University, Brigham Young University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, Indiana University and Northeastern University. Besides teaching, she has worked on a variety of different committees and helped with curriculum development. She also taught for a semester in Wuhan, China. She has experience in teaching all different levels and subjects. She has presented professionally numerous times. She is interested in program development and the use of technology in the classroom. She loves to travel, read, eat great food and spend time with her family.
