Insurance coverage available
Mizzou requires all study abroad participants to be enrolled in CAC insurance, the university’s international insurance and assistance program that includes:
- Chubb: Medical and accident insurance
- AXA: 24/7 global medical and travel assistance services
- Crisis24 Horizon: Online travel security information, destination intelligence and emergency alerts
Accessing coverage
After you have received your CAC insurance card, you should go to the Chubb Travel Portal and create an account to access online medical and safety information. You can access the same information by downloading the Crisis24 Horizon mobile app for Android or iOS.
- In the event of a medical emergency, go immediately to the nearest physician or hospital and contact AXA at +1 630-776-7757(collect calls accepted).
- For non-emergency medical care and travel assistance, notify your program’s on-site support person and contact AXA.
- For security or other assistance, notify your program’s on-site support person and contact the Mizzou 24/7 emergency assistance line through the MU Police Department at +1 573-882-7201. The department will connect you to an appropriate International Programs staff member.
Fill out this emergency information card and carry it with you at all times while you are abroad.
