Joel is a licensed CPA with a background in public and private accounting. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Accountancy in 2001. Joel was born in South Korea and was adopted as an infant. He loves Asian culture and is passionate about connecting with and helping students from abroad. As a graduate of the University of Missouri and an Asian-American, he hopes to share his knowledge and experiences to help scholars learn about US culture. Joel is married to his wife Lauren and they have three girls enrolled in Columbia Public Schools. In his spare time, he enjoys watching TV and movies, playing Lego video games and biking.
