Teresa Ruether is excited to join the Asian Affairs Center in fall 2023. She was a public school educator for 25 years before retiring in 2022 to help care for her first granddaughter, Lucy. Teresa spent most of her career teaching middle school science in Jefferson City, Mo., where she loved to celebrate student accomplishments and have the opportunity to encounter and appreciate many students with different backgrounds and talents. Teresa received her bachelor's of education from Missouri State University and master's in education from William Woods University. Teresa enjoys visiting her two daughters in St. Louis and traveling with her family and friends. She recently returned from a trip to Brazil to learn more about the culture and customs of her son-in-law.
