Ameson Year in China is a unique opportunity for college graduates to serve as educational ambassadors by spending an academic year teaching, living, learning and making a difference in public schools across China. This program offers the opportunity to become TEFL certified, gain professional teaching experience, learn one of the world’s most in-demand languages and make memories that will last a lifetime. Each week, approximately 20 hours are spent teaching conversational English in a classroom setting, and approximately 10 hours are spent engaged with the school community (such as holding office hours, hosting a book club, coaching a sports team or preparing lessons). The remaining time is reserved for exploring collaborative or self-directed pursuits such as language learning, travel and community engagement.
