Matt is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and joined International Student and Scholar Services in 2022. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in international studies with a focus in East Asia and a master's degree in teaching English as a second language. Following graduation, he moved to Jinan, a city just south of Beijing in China, and taught English at Shandong University for five years. When he is not at work, Matt enjoys going to coffee shops, reading and hiking.
