Birthdays and formals

It’s been a while since my last post — but unlike Mizzou, we are still in our exam period so things have been a bit busy. Things here in Manchester have been fantastic, as usual, and quite a lot has happened in the last month or so. My birthday was back in April, and while it was a bit sad to not be able to celebrate with my family and friends back home, I was really happy to be with my friends here in Manchester and share that with them.
The day before my birthday we had a formal with a film and TV theme, so, naturally, I went as Clint Eastwood. The reviews are still coming in. The formal dinners here at Woolton Hall have been a really fun part of my here because they’re a chance for everyone to get together and cut back a bit while also being dressed up. Despite my whinging, it’s always fun.
On my actual birthday, my amazing flatmates took me out for dinner and then to a bowling alley. It was just the perfect way to spend the day — I really can’t thank them enough for that.
About a week after my birthday, we had our Woolton Hall Ball at a posh (fancy) hotel in town and, as expected, it was a great night. As I said before, formal dinners are a really good time, so the ball had a lot of expectations to exceed. It didn’t disappoint. It was a wonderful night with equally wonderful people, and I couldn’t have asked for a better night. As my time here winds down, I’m trying to make the most of my time and I am nothing but grateful for the opportunity to be here for as long as I have been and I hope to end this amazing year on a high note. Until next time!
