Rocking with the Beatles in Liverpool

Liverpool is a vibrant town with ridiculously nice people and great music. A lot like Nashville in the U.S. Only a 40 minute train ride away from Manchester, Liverpool felt completely different. With different accents, different history and different types of people. That’s been the most surprising part about studying here – how small this country is but how different is is depending on which city you visit. Izaac and I spent most of the day on a walking tour of the city. And here are the most interesting facts about Liverpool:

1. The Beatles are from Liverpool.
2. Liverpool and some other northern cities, including Manchester and Leeds, supported the Confederacy during the Civil War.
3. Liverpool was the second most bombed city besides London during WWII.
4. Liverpool is cheaper to film in than London. A lot of movies were filmed there instead, but they say it’s London because they look similar with all the historic buildings.

I 10 out of 10 would recommend doing walking tours. They are fab and you learn loads of new information. And they are done all over Europe.
