Sunrise over Bondi

One of my favorite parts about being in Sydney has been how close I feel to the beach and other parts of nature. Yesterday morning, I decided to take full advantage of that nearness and took the bus to the beach to watch the sunrise. Taking public transportation alone at 4:30 in the morning is definitely an interesting experience, especially compared to Columbia, Missouri where there is basically no public transport. However, it felt safer than I expected it to; it was relatively quick and was full of tired people working early shifts. After an hour of driving through the dark city that was somehow still awake, I got there just in time to get a coffee and watch the sunrise over the eastern coast at Bondi Beach. It was one of my favorite memories of studying abroad yet, and I can’t wait to experience the other unique opportunities that this environment has to offer!

Sky fading from blue to orange over the shoreline with the city lighting up in the background.
