Campus at Lancaster University

I have been living in Lancaster for a month now. So far, I like it and, funnily enough, I have met a lot of Americans. You don’t really need to leave campus for anything which is convenient. There are a few grocery stores, a pharmacy, many restaurants separate from their campus dining selection as well as bars. Additionally, there is always something going on somewhere on campus. A farmers market is set up on Thursdays in Alex Square and society events occur there almost every day of the week. I have joined the Craft Society and plan to try out some others in the coming weeks.
The campus is lovely and walkable. There is a ‘spine’ that runs through it which everything is situated around and can help you orient yourself if you don’t know where you are. It rains frequently and sporadically here which I don’t mind. Along the ‘spine’ are ledges off the buildings to walk under when it rains. There are multiple ponds where you can find the ducks, and because they wander all over, they have caution signs for them. Something that was a little of an adjustment was how my laundry area is not located in my residential building. I think that would be my only criticism in regard to the physical campus.
