Discovering a Nantais life

It’s been about a month since I wrote my last blog and things are going so well here in Nantes! First I want to talk about how much I have learned about the history of Nantes. There is an insanely rich history in this city and I’m so glad that so many of my professors can and want to share that history. One such example is the Gâteau Nantais which is the regional cake made with rum, vanilla and sugar because as a port city, those were good and relatively cheap for them.
In other news, my spring break is just starting and I’m traveling with three of my friends for the week. We will be going to Lisbon and Madrid with a quick layover in Paris. It’s so nice that I’ve been able to make such amazing friends in such a short amount of time. I’m really looking forward to being able to compare the cultural differences in western Europe.
