My time in Italy

Studying in Italy has been one of the most eye opening experiences I have received! At the Florence University of the Arts, I took a social work course and a neighborhood walks and culture course. Both of these courses allowed me to understand what Italians value and how their culture differs greatly from ours. Social work gave me an understanding of improving communities and their well-beings. Neighborhood walks and culture allowed me to visit some of the most well known and vital places in Florence and to the history of Florence. These courses enhanced me within my major as well as I am able to understand a culture that is different than ours. My time spent in Italy would not be the same without taking these courses and I highly recommend both to anyone considering studying in Florence!
I was lucky enough to be in Italy during the Tour De France, which began in Florence. A week before the race, decorations were put up around the city and vendors began selling merchandise. Once the event, began I was able to see bikers from all different countries and people from all different countries come to support loved ones. It was a unique experience I am very fortunate to be able to see.
