Before going on this program, I wanted a way to commemorate my time here, but not the basic souvenir postcards and magnets. I have this notebook that I got the last time I was here, two years ago, that would be perfect to easily carry around. Throughout my time here I have asked people I have met to sign my notebook and write life advice. People from all over the world have signed my notebook writing what they believe is important to hold dear to the heart. Professors, friends, strangers and even tour guides have all contributed to my little notebook.

This notebook holds dozens of people’s values, culture and way of life that I will look back on for the rest of my life. This notebook has shown that deep down everyone just wants to live and experience what life has to offer. I think, despite the hate and conflict, people want friendship and community that can be so easy to find with a simple question. In my notebook people have given me all kinds of valuable advice from, “never stop learning” to “haggis is mid,” which I agree with. This shows what life has to offer and the simplistic beauty of humans.
