My study abroad experience in Spain was incredible! I spent the month taking Spanish classes at the University of Oviedo. We spent the morning classes studying grammar and writing, and in the afternoon we got to choose an elective course to attend, such as art history or health science. There were also students from other universities in the U.S., so it was fun getting to meet new people. The university hosted multiple excursions and events for the students, such as trips to Covadonga and Santillana del Mar, along with a welcome espicha and a closing ceremony.

Northern Spain has some beautiful beach towns and a rich history, and I loved getting to explore and learn about it. We also took a weekend trip to Madrid, where we visited sites such as the Prado Museum and the Palacio Real. My favorite place we visited in Madrid was Las Colecciones Reales, I thought the medieval artifacts were so interesting! We also had plenty of free time to sightsee, go shopping, and try some delicious Spanish cuisine. Overall, I had a great time, and I can’t wait to visit Spain again someday!
