Palacio el Real de Madrid

During my study abroad experience in Oviedo, Spain I had the wonderful opportunity to live with a host family. I got to try so many new foods and witness a completely different lifestyle. While I certainly loved Oviedo and all the wonderful people I met through school and life in this Northern Spanish town, what I loved most was visiting Madrid for a Puente (a long weekend) and experiencing the rich culture and history of the capital of Spain.
Madrid is situated in the very center of the Iberian Peninsula and is home to so many historical monuments of worldwide renown: El Prado Museo, La Puerta Del Sol, Parque Retiro and of course El Palacio Real de Madrid, or in English the Royal Palace of Madrid. The sheer size of the Royal Palace is a display of the immense wealth and power this country once held internationally. The detail in the architecture and design of the building as a whole and each individual room is incredulous. I am so appreciative that I have gotten to see this truly beautiful monument and learn about its unique history. I have included several pictures of the palace including the entryway, throne room, dining room, and the outside. If you are considering visiting Spain, you must stop by the Royal Palace.
