Two weeks in Peru

I was recently lucky enough to spend two weeks in Cusco, Peru, on a Global Health Service Internship program. I went to a job site (nursing home) every morning for four hours. It was such a special experience to get to know and build relationships with the residents. These interactions were so impactful and will stick with me the rest of my life.

After that, we attended a provided lunch. We had the afternoon to ourselves each day to explore the city and hang out with each other. This was a super great time to explore more parts of the beautiful city and get to know the other students on the trip, which I found super fun. I enjoyed trying new Peruvian foods and exploring markets and shops around town.

We also did weekend trips to areas around Cusco, which included going to Machu Picchu, which was beautiful! We did the hike up Wayna Picchu. This provided an immaculate view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding mountains, but the hike was quite difficult! All in all, this experience was amazing and would highly recommend anyone interested in health looking into this program.
