Program dates

The Intensive English Program (IEP) offers three sessions of English language training per year: fall (August to December), spring (January to May) and summer (June to July). The start and end dates of the sessions vary a little each year. The dates for the upcoming terms are:

  • Fall 2024: August 14 to December 13
  • Spring 2025: January 15 to May 16
  • Summer 2025: June 2 to July 25

Medical insurance

MU requires all international students to buy MU’s medical insurance policy unless a student has a scholarship that includes medical insurance. The cost of the medical insurance policy is about $224 per month. For more information, see the information about health services and medical insurance.

Living expenses

The cost of living and other expenses varies according to individual habits, customs and circumstances. Expenses that must be considered are housing, food, books and personal expenses. The estimated 12-month living expenses for a single student are $20,300.

Application fee

The IEP application fee is $65 and is non-refundable. The application fee can be paid by credit card through the online application. It is not necessary for students with scholarships to pay the application fee if they enclose a copy of their scholarship authorization.

Payment of fees

All university fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. You may pay with a check, electronic check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express). Students who are sponsored by a government, university or private corporation must provide evidence of the scholarship authorization.

Refund of fees

A student who withdraws from the IEP before the end of the term will receive a refund of the IEP instructional fee according to the schedule below. There are no refunds for student campus fees or medical insurance.
