International exchange and sponsored student arrival volunteers
Arrival volunteers provide a warm welcome to new international exchange and sponsored students by helping them check into housing, shop for essentials and settle into the community. This opportunity is open to students, Mizzou and MU Health Care employees and members of the Columbia community.

International Student Welcome volunteers
Each semester, hundreds of new international students arrive at Mizzou. They participate in International Student Welcome the week before classes begin to learn all about life at Mizzou and in Columbia.
Volunteers are needed to help run the events during International Student Welcome. They help serve meals, lead small group sessions and assist with the shopping trip. Everyone is welcome to help — U.S. and international students, Mizzou faculty and staff, and community members. Just bring yourself and a friendly attitude. Small group leaders should be a welcoming face for new students to answer questions about campus or Columbia and be able to lead a discussion and keep students actively engaged.
Volunteer applications open a couple of months before the start of each semester.
Mizzou Abroad cultural ambassadors
Mizzou Abroad is looking for current students interested in beginning or continuing their global experience as cultural ambassadors. In this volunteer role, you will assist exchange students as they settle into their life at Mizzou and, if you have studied abroad, you may also have opportunities to share about your experience with prospective study abroad students.
