Asturias: The hidden gem of Spain

Often overshadowed by more tourist-populated areas of Spain, such as Barcelona and Madrid, this region of northern Spain is an ideal travel destination for anyone seeking the perfect place to explore, relax and try new things.
Las Playas
Asturias has some of the most beautiful beaches. Whether in Llanes, Gijón, Ribadesella or Salinas, you’re in for a beautiful view. Surfing, horseback riding and festivals are among some of the opportunities to find adventure at the beaches.
La Comida
Asturias is a region known for Tortilla Española, seafood, cheese and pallella — need I say more?
Picos de Europa
Almost anywhere you travel in Asturias, you’ll likely have to pass through mountains; and even train and bus rides provide for breathtaking views of the landscape of this area of Northern Spain. Hiking in the famous Picos de Europa was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
La Historia
Asturias is rich in culture and history. Being an essential part of the Reconquista of Spain, Asturias is one of the few places in Spain that still embraces original Spanish tradition. Asturias is also home to Covadonga, one of the most important historic locations in the country where King Pelayo fought and initiated the Reconquista of Spain, and is one of the most beautiful places in Asturias.
