Lacey has a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies with a minor in Spanish from Kansas State University. Prior to joining Mizzou, she served as a program specialist in the International Business Programs office in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. In this role, Lacey supported faculty-led study abroad programs, was staff adviser to the International Business Society and organized International Business Program events. She has additional higher education experience as a unit coordinator and assistant director of the Career Management Center in the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, where she advised students on their professional documents, interview skills and career interests. She spent additional time as an HR specialist at the University of Georgia and in corporate career placement and recruiting early in her career. Lacey’s first international experience was a 30-day backpacking trip through Europe as a Girl Scout in high school. A love of travel and exploration was a natural side effect, and she later spent an exchange semester in Ronda, Spain, where she lived with a host family in an immersive language and cultural program through the Universidad de Malaga. She has traveled extensively in Great Britain and mainland Europe and regularly visits the Netherlands to spend time with her husband's family.
