Traveling outside the U.S. this winter break? Come to Memorial Union to get the required travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019. Signatures are valid for six months, so if your signature has expired and you are planning to travel, you must get a new signature. Please bring a hard copy of your document with you. International student advisers will be available for walk-in travel signatures at the following times: 

  • 10 a.m.–noon Tuesday, Nov. 18, in N52 Memorial Union
  • 1:30–3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in S206 Memorial Union
  • 10 a.m.–noon Tuesday, Dec. 9, in S206 Memorial Union
  • 10 a.m.–noon Thursday, Dec. 11, in S206 Memorial Union
  • 1:30–3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, in S206 Memorial Union


If you prefer to receive a digital copy of your I-20 or DS-2019, submit a request in myStatus at least two weeks prior to your scheduled travel.

Optional Practical Training is employment authorization that allows international students in F-1 status to work off-campus in positions directly to their major field of study. All F-1 students planning to apply for OPT work authorization are required to attend an OPT workshop. 

You must sign up in MU Connect to attend this workshop.

Required for all faculty, staff and program assistants who have leadership roles for Mizzou study abroad programs or university-related international activities. All faculty, staff and program assistants who lead programs abroad are required to attend this workshop every other year to receive updated information.

 

The workshop will assist program leaders and assistants in understanding their roles and responsibilities, along with the resources and support available through International Programs and the university. Presenters include the UM System Office of General Counsel and Office of Risk and Insurance Management and the MU Office of International Health, Safety and Security. The workshop covers:

  • Best practices to support student health, safety and security
  • Individual and institutional liability concerns
  • Risk management and insurance coverage
  • Student conduct issues
  • Emergency response

 
This workshop will be held on Zoom at the following times — register in advance for the session you will attend:

  • 2–4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30
  • 2–4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5

STEM OPT is an extension of the Optional Practical Training employment authorization that allows international students in F-1 status to continue working for an additional 24-months. All F-1 students who may be eligible for STEM OPT are encouraged to attend a workshop.
