COVID-19: Study abroad program cancellations for China, South Korea
Feb. 27, 2020
The University of Missouri is closely monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19, a novel (new) coronavirus that began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. At this time, China has a Department of State travel advisory level four: do not travel and a CDC travel warning level three: avoid nonessential travel. South Korea has a Department of State travel advisory level three: reconsider travel and a CDC travel warning level three: avoid nonessential travel.
In accordance with the MU student international travel policy, university-sponsored student travel to China and South Korea is prohibited at this time. We have canceled study abroad programs in China and South Korea for spring, spring break and summer 2020.
We will continue to monitor information from the CDC, World Health Organization, U.S. Department of State, World Aware (AlertTraveler) and other resources, and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
