The MU Asian Affairs Center is proud to share that its student employee Tyler Coleman, a senior majoring in biochemistry, received an honorable mention award (third place) in the intermediate division at the 6th Midwest Korean Speech Contest. Hosted by the Korean Consulate in Chicago on April 5, 38 students from 20 different schools competed in this contest. One of 14 in his division, Coleman shared the mistakes and fears he experienced while learning Korean and encouraged others to not give up and keep trying. Coleman has been studying Korean since fall 2023.
