MU Center for English Language Learning now a member of UCIEP

The University of Missouri Center for English Language Learning has been accepted as a member of the prestigious Consortium of University and College Intensive English Programs. UCIEP was founded in 1967 and currently has 79 member programs located in 32 states and the District of Columbia. Membership is limited to university- and college-governed English language programs for international students.
UCIEP’s purpose is to advance professional standards and quality instruction in intensive English programs at universities and colleges in the United States. Member programs are committed to the consortium’s effort to ensure that students receive the highest quality intensive English language instruction from trained, professional teachers.
The mission of UCIEP is to promote excellence in IEP administration, curriculum and instruction by:
- Establishing guidelines for member programs
- Encouraging and sponsoring professional development as well as cooperation and communication among member programs
- Advocating on behalf of member programs, the organization and the field of teaching English as a second language
