Travel Health Advisory: COVID-19/Coronavirus

Jan. 31, 2020

Updated March 19, 2020

The University of Missouri is closely monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19, a novel (new) coronavirus that began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. At this time, the U.S. Department of State has issued a global level 4 health advisory, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a global level 2 travel alert. Additionally, there are CDC level 3 travel warnings for many countries related to COVID-19.

In accordance with the MU student international travel policy, all university-sponsored student travel abroad is prohibited at this time. We have canceled all study abroad programs for spring, spring break and summer 2020. We will not consider appeals for study abroad or university-related international travel while the Department of State global level 4 health advisory is in place.

We will continue to monitor information from the CDC, World Health Organization, U.S. Department of State, World Aware (AlertTraveler) and other resources, and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Please review our COVID-19 information for study abroad for additional details.
