Welcome, Austin

The International Center is pleased to welcome Austin Chevess to its staff. Austin will be serving as the new front desk assistant. He earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Missouri with minors in business and art history. As an undergrad, he studied abroad in China where he visited seven major cities and gained fluency in Mandarin Chinese. He is the first Mizzou undergraduate student to be accepted into the National Collegiate Chinese Honor Society. Austin grew up in a military family; he was born in Belgium and lived in South Korea for two years, as well as in multiple states in the United States. His previous work includes three years as the program director of shooting sports with the Boy Scouts of America and two and a half years with University of Missouri Student Auxiliary Services. In his spare time, he enjoys studying history and other cultures, as well as art and gaming.
The center is also pleased to announce that Xiaoyu Guo is now serving as the director of international analytics. In this new role, he will continue to assist the center in a broad range of tasks focused on analysis of systems, process and information on international students and scholars.
